明清芜湖工商业发展再探

A Re-probe into the Industrial Development of Wuhu in Ming and Qing Dynasties

摘要:作为明清江南一大都会的芜湖,工商业发展特色鲜明,这集中体现于当时芜湖在全国工商业中的地位上、社会各阶层的参与度、经营方式灵活性和发展的趋向性等方面。究其原因,乃多重因素的集聚,这包括优越的地理位置、良好的工农业基础、榷关的设置以及芜湖开放进取的精神等。

Abstract:AAs one of big cities in regions south of Yangtze River in Ming and Qing Dynasties, Wuhu had striking features of developed industry and commerce. These were shown in its status in industry and trade in China, participating degree of various social classes, flexibility of types of operation and development tendency. This was brought about by the combination of various factors which include its excellent geographic place, good foundation of industry and agriculture, establishment of checkpoints and the open and enterprising spirit.
