也论贾宝玉形象的“玉、石”二重性特征 ——兼与丁维忠先生商榷

摘要:贾宝玉其人既有“玉性”也有“石性”,而且他的“石性”和“玉性”“是合而为一的”,是互为映照补充的,它们不是对立关系。其“玉性”和“石性”中的主要方面都是值得我们肯定的品质。不过,不管是“玉性”也好,还是“石性”也罢,它们都有不足之处,这些不足之处在作品中似就被隐喻成了贾宝玉性格中的缺点。但这些不足和缺点仅仅只是贾宝玉性格中极少的、次要的因素,不能把它们视为贾宝玉性格中的所谓的或“玉性”或“石性”本身。否则,视贾宝玉与石头与神瑛与通灵玉“四位一体”,便无从谈起。

Abstract:JIA Bao-yu is characterized by the duality of stone and jade, and his stone being and jade one are combined with each other and complementary, and are not in opposition. The main aspects in them are worthy of our confirmation. However, they have their own limitations which are metaphorized as the short comings of Bao-yu in the work A Dream of red Mansions. But these short comings are small in amount and minor factors in his characters. We cannot take them as the stone being and jade one themselves. Otherwise, it will be impossible to take Bao-yu as four-in-one figure of the stone, Shenying and the jade
