Abstract:The new media in Tibetan regions of Sichuan have lagged behind. In spite of that, they have their hereditary superiority due to the less constraints from their geographical conditions. Therefore, the cadres in these regions should unify their thinking, increase the investment into the construction of the new media, make the detailed plans, provide the guarantee from the system, and promote the construction of the new media with the traditional ones. Through the development of the new media, we can narrow the gap between the central and western parts of China in terms of media. This can make up for the “innate deficiency ” of the traditional media in Tibetan regions of Sichuan, and develop the guiding and comforting functions of the new media in an attempt to achieve the social stability and peace.
