Abstract:The “privileges” of Shen-ce rebellious army included harassing civilians, rascal soldiers, occupation of Jingzhao state and intervening the judicial power and law enforcement, violation of official system concerning dressing, and making up household register. In mid and late Tang Dynasties, various emperors issued decrees for pardon which were poorly enforced though they mostly mentioned the privileges of Shen-ce army. The loyal and strong Jingzhao magistrate and other officials of the counties and prefectures in which Shen-ce army stationed were not feared and took some measures to restrain such privileges.
