语言学研究清代以前的传统人名学研究述评

A Review of Studies concerning Traditional Chinese PersonalNames before Qing Dynasty

摘要:以清朝为界限,传统人名学研究可分为清代之前和清代两个时期。清代以前的人名学研究缺乏从语言学视角,命名理据(得名之由)和文化内涵等方面进行深入探讨,其对人名的研究主要集中在姓氏源流、命名礼仪和规则、谱牒以及小名和同名等几个方面。

Abstract:With Qing Dynasty as a boundary, the traditional studies of personal names can be divided into two phases. The studies before Qing Dynasty lacked the linguistic perspectives, and deep excavation of names' motivation and cultural connotations. Such studies mainly concentrated on the origin of the family names, naming etiquette and rules, family trees, nicknames, homonyms, etc.
