On Musical Beauty of Textual Rhythm of A Legend of the Scholars’ Circle

  • 摘要:邓文原的跋文所用的一些关键性文字和思想来源于北宋理学家程颐,因而对赵子昂《马上封侯图》这幅“士人画”的“以墨为戏”的初心只字不提。 邓文原和赵子昂的法书,虽然技艺相近,喜好相同,但邓文原的法书似更有实用价值和审美价值。 另外,对邓文原的生平事迹特别是为官清正也有简要介绍。

    Abstract:"The musical beauty connoted in various chapters and sections of A Legend of Scholars’ Circle is a breakthrough in the creation of classical novels in China. This paper has made an interpretation of this from three perspectives. Firstly, various chapters of the book are relatively independent and can be grouped into different musical movements. Second- ly, the alternation of repeated narration and the variant one has set the special“partita”. Thirdly, scholars with different“tim- bre” whose fate are interwoven and mutually connected have constructed a three-dimensional mobile space. Their coordinate points in this space have revealed the differences of their moral characters and cultivation. Generally, the textual rhythm of this book is characterized by the profound musical beauty."
