Abstract: As a great work studying the Chinese classical novels, LU Xun’s Brief History of Chinese Fiction has been of great influence since its publication, and naturally has been valued in peoples’ research of fiction history. Dr. WEN Qingx- in’s A Study of LU Xun’s Brief History of Chinese Fictionfrom a Perspective of Chinese Fiction History is the fruit of rel- evant research. On the basis of abundant materials and with the LU Xun’s work of first draft in hand and the revised process in mind, the author of this work has made profound reflection of the current relevant research, and put forward a series of new views. Further, he has made some deep analysis of those which are neglected or fail to get full attention with combination of the relevant materials. The clear thinking venation and unified structure have brought the best in each other and have led to the high academic value of this work which represents the latest development of the relevant study.
