Abstract: In order to find out about the effect of mobile addiction on the loneliness of college students, and to build the mediating role of the coping style between the mobile addiction and loneliness, a total of330 college students were investigated by use of the Loneliness Scale, College Student Addiction Tendency Scale and Coping Style questionnaire. A significant positive correlation is found to exist between mobile phone addiction and loneliness& negative coping style, and a significant negative correlation with positive coping style(P<0. 01) ; Positive coping style plays partly a mediating role between mobile addiction and loneliness, and the indirect effect accounts for22. 8% ; Negative coping style also plays partly a mediating role between mobile addiction and loneliness, with the indirect effects accounting for16. 3% of the total effect. College students’ mobile ad- diction, loneliness, coping style are closely related, mobile phone addiction will affect the level of loneliness of college students via coping style.
