Abstract:Compared to its previous counterparts, the western film High Noon has its striking innovation and development in terms of character portrayal, narrative subject and music and has reached a high artistic level.Starting from the film’s music design, this paper has found the artistic functions of the film sound, such as narrative implication, exaggerating atmosphere and meeting the spatial gap.Such sound has created the visual and audio illusion and reflected the aesthetic pursuit of American western films.
