Abstract:Since the 1960s, fiber art has become a unique form of art that has attracted widespread attention. The art is characterized by special materials, creativity, and multiculturalism. It also inherits traditional handcrafts, integrates modern culture, and achieves the unity of science, nature, and art. Fiber materials, as a transition from natural products to man-made objects, also contain relevant information pertaining to culture, politics, and economics. Due to globalization, fiber art carries complex social relationships. In the postmodern context, the re-creation of textiles by the traditional handcraft is not only an emotional expression but also a response to contemporary culture. Contemporary fiber art inherits the essence of traditional textile culture. What it conveys is through unique materials and artistic language in social space. As a result, social metaphors are brought about, and emotional healing is achieved. The art reveals the development of contemporary society and the continuity of culture.
