Abstract:As the first of its kind in modern China, the Gui-mao Educational System shows ZHANG Zhi-dong’s educational thoughts, that is, common education, education for certain industries and normal education should be equally developed. Further, the schooling system should be separated from the educational administration. Such system is the first step in the educational modernization in China. It is of great significance in the history of Chinese education.
