English Phonological Ambiguity and Its Stylistic Functions

摘要:语音歧义是歧义的一种表现形式。由于调核的位置不同，停顿位置的不同,以及词、句重音位置的不同,快速语流中的音变，同音异义词的存在，调型的动态使用都会引起语音歧义现象。但在文学作品、幽默小品、广告中能有效而灵活地运用语音歧义，会大大增强文本的表现力。

Abstract:Phonological ambiguity is one form of ambiguity. It can be produced due to the different location of nucleus, pause and stress in words or sentences. And it also can be caused by co-articulation in connected speech，homonymy and the use of different intonation-patterns. Its effective and flexible application can ascertain a strong effect on literature works, humorous creations and advertisements.
