Abstract:Rice is one of the major grain crops in Neijiang, whose yield exerts an important influence upon the social or economic development in the locality. By aid of the principal component analysis method, 20 factors that affect rice yield were taken as evaluating indicators for the examination of the statsistical data concerning rice yields in the years from 1999-2009. The result shows that the top 5 factors,namely,the effective irrigated area,the actual rice-planting area, the fertilization quantity,the number of village-run hydropower stations and the capacity of them stand among the list of the factors that drastically affect rice yields.Suggestions for enhancing rice yields are thus put forth as well.
