Abstract:Radicals can only be odered by strokes, not thoroughly by Pinyin, which brings about much difficulty in information process. According to their attributes, 201 radicals can be classified into three groups: single character radical, non-single character radical and stroke radical; moreover, the principles of defining their names and information codes are put forward. Single character radical is named after its Pinyin, non-single character radical should be denominated based on the need of Chinese teaching, from which one character is chosen as the information code; stroke radical is entitled in terms of the pronunciation of its fundamental stroke. The table of “The Names of 201 Radicals and their codes” is also listed.
