Abstract:The novel Fortress Besieged reflects the life of modern intellects in 1930s and 1940s. And it describes various bizarre images. Moreover, it has made a humorous, pungent and profound satire on intellectuals in the period of Anti-Japanese War from the observation of cultural phenomena, figures and their life. And hence it reveals the writer’s philosophical thinking of the embarrassing life.
