Abstract:To investigate Intermediary role of humor style(from the three dimensions of self-enhancing humor style and self-defeating humor style) between general self-efficacy and mental health（3 dimensions: anxiety, depression and self-approval）. 231 college student were investigated by HSQ, GSES and GHQ-20.Results General self-efficacy has played an intermediary role between self-enhancing humor style and the 3 dimensions of mental health, namely anxiety, depression and self-approval. Self-defeating humor style had no significant correlation with General self-efficacy. Self-defeating humor style is merely significantly correlated with one dimensions of mental health, namely the anxiety. Results: Self-enhancing humor style exerts influence on mental health through 3 dimensions(anxiety, depression and self-approval) in 2 ways. The first is to exert direct positive influence on 3 dimensions of mental health; the second is to exert indirect positive influence on 3 dimensions of mental health which is via effects on the general self-efficacy.
