On“Wall” and Females and Males in and out of It: A Brief Study of Image of Wall in Love Description in Novels and Dramas in Ancient China

摘要:在中国古代小说戏曲涉及爱情生活的作品中，对“墙”的描写是一个常见现象。然而，这一现象所包含的文化意蕴却非常深厚，因为它已经形成一种意象，并对中国古代通俗文化以及青年男女的爱情婚姻生活产生了巨大影响。

Abstract:In novels or dramas of ancient China concerning love, we can find a universal phenomenon: description of walls. However, such phenomenon has very deep cultural connotations because “wall” has become a kind of images, and it has exerted great influence on popular culture and young people’s love and marriage in ancient China.
