On the Early History of Modern Mathematics Foundation in China

Though the foundation of Chinese Modern mathematics had once lagged 200 years behind the West on the basis of that, yet still it is finally established and developed through hard efforts of mathematicians generation after generation, who had gone through all the hardship of going studying abroad, and returning home to start and develop higher mathematics education. The foundation process of Chinese modern mathematics lasted about 30 years at its beginning stage(from the beginning of the 20 ^thcentury to 1929). In retrospect of the hard beginning of the predecessor mathematicians, a spirit of strong self-reliance is felt for their excellent talent for scientific innovation.
