Investigation and Analysis on the Situation of Continuous Cropping of Flue-cured Tobacco in Anning River Valley
Abstract
Through the questionnaire and field survey and interviews of relevant staff and tobacco farmers, an investiga-tion is made to look at the continuous cropping of flue-cured tobacco in the Anning River Valley, Mianning County, including6 major towns. The results showed that continuous cropping of flue-cured tobacco in the investigated areas were a general prac- tice. Most of the continuous cropping areas have lasted more than5 years, of which the villages of Hui Long and Hou Shan had a relatively higher proportion of continuous cropping. Each region suffers a different degree of continuous cropping obstacles, such as the increase of tobacco diseases and insecticides, the decrease in the production of flue-cured tobacco, and dropping pro- portion of top-quality tobacco leaves.
