The Basic Strategy of Senior Geography Test Based on the New Curriculum Standards
Abstract
Based on the interpretation of the New Curriculum Standards of the Senior Geography, an analysis is made of the traditional design of Geography examination test. It finds that the principal problems are as follows: overemphasis on the
knowledge orientation with inadequate attention given to comprehensiveness of knowledge and thus being blamed for lack of in- novativeness in keeping up with the times. Counter strategies for the making of geography examination questions are thus put forth: priority should be given to reflection of the characteristics of the times and the comprehensiveness of the subject and in- novativeness; greater concern be put on students’ real life practice so that the teaching of senior middle school geography can be prompted and made to be up to the requirements of the new curriculum standards.
