The Exploration of the Picture Book Publishing Strategy

  • Recent years China have witnessed the rapid development in the publication of picture books with the majority
    of them being exported from abroad. The foreign picture books hold the major share of the publishing markets yet the original picture books remain to be underdeveloped. The editing of picture books is an important part in publishing a picture book. In the publishing process, it must bear in mind the connotation that the picture book is a literary form which is the joint efforts of picture and text. The mastery of children psychology, the establishment of children-centered philosophy, emphasis of the translation of the texts in foreign picture books, and encouraging domestic original picture book development, and composing more excellent picture books are essential for the building of our country’s children picture book brand in advancing and expan- ding Chinese cultural spirit.
