Tradition, Conflicts and Integration Embodied via the Value of Loyalty and Integrity by the Jurchen Ethnic Group in Early and Middle Peroid of Jin Dynasty

  • Before the establishment of Jin Dynasty, the Jurchen ethnic group (JEP) had a traditional value of loyalty and integrity that mainly worshipped power. After Jin Dynasty's conquests of Liao and Northern Song Dynasties, the JEG's traditional value of loyalty and integrity retained its previous strength, but diversified with the absorption of the value of loyalty and integrity of both Liao and Song Dynasties through mutual exchanges. This diversity also planted the seeds of future conflicts. During the middle period of Jin Dynasty, the internal political situation was turbulent, and the value of loyalty and integrity of various factions of the JEG clashed during the reigns of Xizong and Hailing, and even lingered into the early reign of Emperor Shizong. Finally, they were integrated during the reign of Emperor Shizong, and the traditional value of loyalty and integrity was reduced from diversity to singularity.
