A Rare Version of Poetry:Twelve Poets of Bashu in Ming Dynasty

  • Twelve Poets of Bashu in Ming Dynastyis a selected collection of poems and songs compiled from FU Zengxiang's private collection, including works from 12 authors from Sichuan in Ming Dynasty. The book follows the textual format of imprints in Song Dynasty, and contains a total of 613 poems and songs by poets from Sichuan in Ming Dynasty, each of which are excellent works with theirs own unique characteristics. The book was copied from the edition of the reign of Chongzhen and Selected Poems of Twelve Generations of Shicang, the edition by Institute of Rites, of which the latter is currently lost overseas China and only a few incomplete volumes of the edition of the reign of Chongzhen remain in China. The layout of the book was chosen to be identical to the original, making it an important supplement to the edition of the reign of Chongzhen. This book is an important achievement of FU's efforts to organize local culture, and is a rare collection of works from the 12 authors, many of which are not found elsewhere. It is an important source of research for Sichuan literary works in Ming Dynasty.
