English Phonological Ambiguity and Its Stylistic Functions
Abstract
Phonological ambiguity is one form of ambiguity. It can be produced due to the different location of nucleus, pause and stress in words or sentences. And it also can be caused by co-articulation in connected speech,homonymy and the use of different intonation-patterns. Its effective and flexible application can ascertain a strong effect on literature works, humorous creations and advertisements.
