Contradictions of Female Consciousness in Gui Zhier

Gui Zhier has presented a relatively real female world. The females in the work have their unique features and share the activeness of humanity. Their braveness to face the lust, calmness, reason, anger and hatred all show their attributes against tradition, and mark the wakening of female consciousness which is strikingly characterized by the time. The sense of crisis and tragedy runs through the work. However, they try in vain to find an effective way of self-release. Such consciousness in the work has its contradiction and limitation, which reflect the real history.
