On the Construction of Sports Ethics and Sportsmanship in the New Era

With the ever-accelerating socialization, industrialization and professionalization of sports, traditional sports ethics undergoes an unprecedented challenge and witnesses degeneration in its function and role, which poses on us an urgent task to establish a new system of sportsmanship and sports ethics. Such a task asks us to strike a balance in the treatment of three relationships: 1. the dialectical inheritance and development of traditional sports ethics; 2. the strengthening of the guiding role of sportsmanship upon the practice; 3. the pushing forward of the harmonious development of sportsmanship and legal system.
