The Research of Residents’ Perception to the International Event Tourism
Abstract
Event tourism, as an effective means to enhance the development and reputation of the host place, exerts a diversified influence upon the locality. Local residents are the direct percipients of tourist activities. Their perception of the event plays a crucial part that might decide how successful the event carries on. A case study of Liuzhou F1 Motorboat championship is made to investigate the residents’ attention rate and attitude towards the event, and various social, environmental, and cultural influences. Countermeasures are suggested for the problems observed in the survey so that other host cities might find helpful when hosting similar events.
